ISMM elects Jayantha Gallehewa as new President

At the Annual General Meeting of the Institute of Supply and Materials Management (ISMM) held recently at the Organisation of Professional Associations (OPA) auditorium, Jayantha Gallehewa was unanimously elected as the 17th President of the ISMM.


Gallehewa has been was a Vice President since 2019 and had also served as Assistant Secretary, General Secretary and Chairman of the Professional Development and Training Committee, Chairman of the 50th Anniversary Management Committee, Chairman of the Seminars Workshops and Functions Committee and many other committees for several years, having joined as a member of the ISMM in 1997.


Gallehewa currently serves the OPA as a Vice President, Chairman Membership Committee, and served as Chairman Supply Chain and Logistics Committee of the OPA. He has been of service to the OPA for eight consecutive years in various roles. Currently Gallehewa serves as Director, Supply Chain of Capital
Maharaja Group.


The ISMM, established in 1972, is the pioneer in supply chain education in Sri Lanka and was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1981.


At present, the ISMM conducts 16 courses in English and Sinhala in supply chain-related subjects for the benefit of school leavers as well as those already employed in the relevant fields.


The ISMM is a member of the International Federation of Purchasing and Supply Management, which is the international body, which encompasses all supply chain institutes worldwide. The ISMM is also affiliated to the International Trade Centre in Geneva and is their franchise holder in Sri Lanka for conducting of ITC’s International Diploma in Purchasing and Supply Chain Management Course in Sri Lanka.
