Indrajit Wickramasinghe appointed to Overseas Realty Ceylon board

Overseas Realty Ceylon PLC announced the appointment of Indrajit Wickramasinghe as an Independent Non-Executive Director to its board of directors.

In compliance with the Colombo Stock Exchange new listing rules on independent directors, the company also announced the retirement of Tissa Kumara Bandaranayake, who had distinguishably served on the board for over 13 years. 

Wickramasinghe was the former Director/Chief Executive Officer of Union Bank for over nine years, up to his retirement on August 15, 2024. He counts over 35 years of management experience, having worked in both the financial services and FMCG sectors in local and multinational companies. He holds an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK and a Member of the Association of the Professional Bankers. He has been exposed to Executive Education Programmes at the National University of Singapore, the Said Business School of the University of Oxford UK and INCEAD (France). He is a member of the Oxford Business Alumni, University of Oxford UK. 

Prior to his appointment as Director/CEO of Union Bank, he served as Chief Operating Officer of NDB Bank, where he was responsible for all business areas including retail banking, corporate banking, SME banking and project finance. Prior to joining the financial services sector, he was with the leading MNC Reckitt and Colman Ceylon where he held numerous senior management positions. 

Wickramasinghe has also served on a number of boards as an Executive Director and Non-Executive Director.  He was Chairman of the Financial Ombudsman Sri Lanka (Guarantee) and a Director of the Credit Information Bureau of Sri Lanka. 

The board of directors of Overseas Realty Ceylon PLC comprises of Chairman Ajit Jayaratne, Mildred Tao Ong (Dr.), Ralph De Lanerolle, En Ping Ong, Dr. Ranee Jayamaha, Ben Nien Tao, Brian Tao, Dr. Arittha Wickramanayake, Shamil Mendis, Yohan Perera, Indrajit Wickramasinghe and Pravir Samarasinghe.
