JASTECA Sri Lanka appoints new Executive Committee for 2024-2025

The Japan Sri Lanka Technical and Cultural Association (JASTECA) Sri Lanka announced the appointment of its new Executive Committee for the year 2024-2025. 

The new committee, which comprises distinguished professionals from various sectors, will lead the association in its ongoing mission to promote bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Japan, enhance technical collaboration, and foster cultural exchange.

The Executive Committee was appointed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at the Hotel Galadari recently. 

Mangala Samarajeewa, a senior member of JASTECA, has been elected as the President of the association. He previously served as the Senior Vice President of JASTECA for the past two years. 

Mangala is the Chief Innovation Officer at Sri Lanka Telecom Plc, and he has been an active contributor to JASTECA’s leadership for over a decade, holding various positions on its Executive Committee. Additionally, he served as the Secretary General of the South Asia Federation of AOTS Alumni Societies from 2015 to 2017.

The newly appointed Executive Committee brings together a group of dynamic leaders, each with a wealth of experience in their respective fields. Their experience in diverse business sectors, brings an overall perspective to JASTECA during the ensuing year.  

Under the leadership of the new President, JASTECA is poised to continue its work in enhancing the technical learning and cultural ties between the two nations. 

JASTECA Sri Lanka has a long and distinguished history of promoting Sri Lanka-Japan relations. Since its inception in 1984, the association has been at the forefront of fostering cultural, educational, and professional development. 

With a track record of nominating over 4000 individuals for varies learning and development programmes conducted by the AOTS Japan, JASTECA has played a pivotal role in promoting Japanese Management practices in leading companies in Sri Lanka. JASTECA awards on 5S, CSR and Lean is one of the most coveted award ceremonies in the country.
