School Principal Sister Mary Metlen receives books on Artificial Intelligence from Rajkumar Kanagasingam

A lecture on ‘Introduction to Artificial Intelligence’ was recently delivered by Fintech Association of Sri Lanka (FASL) President Rajkumar Kanagasingam at Little Flower Girls’ Maha Vidyalayam (known as Little Flower Convent) in Karampon, Kayts, Jaffna.
The lecture was organised in the memory of late Nageswary Kanagasingam, an old girl of the school.
The resource support for the lecture was provided by HKU FINTECH (of the University of Hong Kong) and ELEVANDI, an independent organisation created by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

Little Flower Convent was originally established in 1926 as a Roman Catholic school near the St. Sebastian Church, Karampon, Kayts which has more than 200 years old history.
The Fintech Association of Sri Lanka’s lecture was in view of the Education Ministry in March announcing integrating AI and Machine Learning (ML) into Sri Lanka’s National School Curriculum.
The initiative will initially be rolled out to 20 schools selected by the Education Ministry with at least one school designated from each of the nine provinces. These schools will serve as a benchmark for scalability across the country.
