Japan has relaxed the travel advisory imposed on Sri Lanka following the deadly Easter Sunday terrorist attacks on April 21.
“In light of the stabilization of security situation in Sri Lanka as a result of the large-scale and intensive investigations and security re-enforcement by the concerned authorities, the Government of Japan relaxed the travel advisory nation-wide from level-2 (refrain from non-essential travel) to level-1(exercise sufficient caution) on June 25,” a statement from the Japanese
embassy in Colombo said.
However, the statement said the Japanese government would continue to advise their nationals to maintain sufficient vigilance during their stay in Sri Lanka with possible occurrence of terrorist attacks and other incidents of violence in mind.
