Singapore-based Jungle Kitchen, which operates a women-led facility in Sri Lanka, was recognised as an advocate for the 2024 Summit for Action on Gender Equality (SAGE 2024) by the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO).

At the event, Surekha Yadav and Mukeeta Manukulasuriya, Co-Founders of Jungle Kitchen, were recognised for their contribution by Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

As a female-founded and led business, Jungle Kitchen specialises in sourcing and supplying the finest tropical vegan ingredients from South Asia and South East Asia. To help consumers familiarise themselves with these kinds of foods, the brand launched its inaugural line-up in 2023, which consists of six products. All of the products are vegan-friendly and spotlight signature indigenous ingredients like jackfruit and banana blossoms. Promoting women’s involvement across agricultural value chains is at the core of the brand’s mission, as is connecting producers across Sri Lanka to Singapore.
