The Republic of Korea has expressed that in an effort to deepen diplomatic ties, it is focused on providing more employment opportunities to Sri Lankans.
Republic of Korea Government Policy Coordination Minister Koo Yun-cheol, who was in the country last week, said that the country is keen on creating scope of employment in Korea for Sri Lankans, as it acknowledges the difficult economic situation prevailing in Sri Lanka.

The visiting minister highlighted that in celebration of the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Sri Lanka this year, both nations must explore means to further elevate the robust bilateral relations in a future-oriented way.

He identified pharmaceutical, electronic and other value-added industries using raw materials readily available in Sri Lanka, as areas of potential.
