The Labour Department this week launched an online complaint management system allowing employees to submit their inquiries and complaints with the department swiftly and conveniently.

The online complaint management system went live on Tuesday at an event held at the Government Information Department, with the participation of Labour Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva and key ministry officials.
The minister highlighted that the facility allows everyone employed in the semi-government and private sector submit their complaints on their workplaces by their names or even anonymously.

Once a complaint has been made, the complainer receives an automatically generated number, which allows him/her to check and track the progress and the actions taken by the Labour Department with regards to the complaint.  Therefore, De Silva pointed out that no longer employees need to wait in queues at the Labour Department, exhausting their valuable time to make inquiries and complaints.

By visiting www.labourdept.gov.lk, the interested parties can submit their complaints in their preferred language (Sinhala, Tamil and English).
