Lanka IOC donates Rs.200mn to President’s Fund

With continued focus on giving back to the society, Lanka IOC Chairman Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra donated a cheque of Rs.200 million to President Ranil Wickremesinghe as a contribution to the President’s Fund meant for advancement of education, upliftment of the society or any other purpose in the interest of the public.

During the meeting, President Wickremesinghe, Lanka IOC Chairman Mohapatra, and Lanka IOC MD Manoj Gupta, discussed matters of mutual co-operation and interest such as enhancement of use of renewable energy in Sri Lanka and need for exploring new sources for petroleum products in proximity considering the new Cauvery Basin refinery that is coming on east coast of India (Tamil Nadu). 


President Wickremesinghe also congratulated Lanka IOC for completing 20 years of service to Sri Lanka and fondly remembered the time of formation of Lanka IOC in Sri Lanka. 


Lanka IOC Chairman Mohapatra expressed his gratitude to President Wickremesinghe for the continuous support and cooperation provided by the government including the Central Bank of Sri Lanka from time-to-time enabling arrangement of seamless fuel supply by Lanka IOC throughout the length and breadth of the country.


He also assured that Lanka IOC is keen and ready to play a significant role in the Sri Lankan energy market with diversification into renewables and is working towards providing multiple energy solutions to customers at
its fuel stations.
