National Savings Bank (NSB) has appointed Lasith Nanayakkara as its new Deputy General Manager IT/ Chief Information Officer (CIO), effective October 1, 2024.

He succeeds Dr. Amal Illesinghe, who recently retired after over 17 years of dedicated service to the bank.

Nanayakkara brings over 35 years of experience in the banking and finance sector to this role. Prior to joining NSB, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer at Nations Trust Bank PLC.d

With extensive expertise in both local and international banking, he has a strong background in digital transformation and IT modernisation. His leadership is expected to enhance NSB’s technological capabilities and improve customer experiences in an increasingly digital banking environment.
