Macksons Bathware (Pvt.) Ltd, a unit of Macksons Holdings, has secured a 20-acre land plot in the Raigama Green Industrial Zone on long-term lease to set up a sanitaryware plant, with an investment of Rs.6 billion.

The Cabinet of Ministers this week approved a proposal by Industries Minister Wimal Weerawansa to grant a 20-acre land plot adjoining New Chattel Estate belonging to the Land Reforms Commission, which is currently under development for the construction of the Raigama Green Industrial Zone in the Millaniya division in the Kalutara district, to Macksons Bathware (Pvt.) Ltd for the proposed project on a 35-year lease basis.

The Government Information Department noted that the approval was granted based on a Cabinet decision in June last year to implement a special programme to provide investment opportunities for local businesses at Divisional Secretariat level, covering the entire island.

Macksons is a leading player in the tile manufacturing industry, with over 50 years of experience, manufacturing a wide range of floor tiles for both commercial and household use.
