Malik to speak at Global Investment Forum

Sri Lanka’s investment opportunities will receive global spotlight with Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrama speaking at the ‘Global Investment Forum’ of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) taking place next week.


The prestigious global forum being held at the Atlantis the Palm, Dubai, on November 16 and 17, will provide the platform to showcase Sri Lanka’s investment opportunities and ongoing economic transformation initiatives to an elite audience of investors. 


The forum is held under the patronage of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Samarawickrama will be speaking in a session alongside Standard Chartered Bank CEO Bill Winters, African Development Bank President Akinwumi Adesina and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development President Sir 
Suma Chakrabarti.


The ICD Global Investment Forum convenes the world’s most prominent business leaders, institutional investors, sovereign wealth funds and heads of state. 


The other speakers at the event include Rwandan President Paul Kagame, Gambia President Adama Barrow, AirAsia Chairman/CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, Khazanah Nasional Managing Director San Sri Azman Mokhtar, former Walt Disney Chairman Dick Cook, Hyperloop Co-Founder and Engineering President Josh Giegel and DP World Chairman and CEO Sultan bin Sulayem.
The forum is taking place alongside the fourth Annual Summit of Co-Investment Roundtable of Sovereign and Pension Funds and provides a unique opportunity for Sri Lanka’s emerging opportunities for foreign investment and improving the climate for foreign direct investment to be showcased to high-net-worth individuals and sovereign funds looking for new
