Manjula to take over from Dhara as Ceylon Chamber CEO

Manjula de Silva will assume duties as the Secretary General and CEO of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, from February 1.  


De Silva takes over from Dhara Wijayatilake who retires from that position after serving in that capacity since 
March 2016. De Silva has held several senior positions in the private sector as well as in the public sector, including as a member of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Sri Lanka, 

as the Chairperson of the National Insurance Trust Fund, as the Managing Director and CEO of HNB Assurance PLC, and Director General of the Public Enterprises Reform Commission, among others. He served as the Chairman of the CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) Sri Lanka Board in 2016, and was subsequently appointed to its Regional Board for MESANA (Middle East, South Asia, and North Africa) Region.  


He is a Past President of both Insurance Association of Sri Lanka (IASL) and Unit Trust Association of Sri Lanka (UTASL). 


Currently de Silva serves as a board member of BPPL Holdings Ltd. and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC. He has been engaged with the work of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce since 1996, having served on the Chamber Committee and being actively involved in several other initiatives. He has also served as the Chairman of its Steering Committee on Insurance.   He currently serves as a member of the Chamber Economic Policy Steering Committee as well as the National Agenda Committee on Public Sector Reforms.
