Mayo Clinic Team, a global icon in healthcare, education, and research, is currently in Sri Lanka to discuss the progress of the Port City Colombo Hospital project.
Having partnered with Asiri Hospital of Softlogic, the two entities are looking to shape the future of healthcare for the region.
Mayo Clinic is an American academic and medical center focused on integrated healthcare education and research. It employs over 4,500 physicians and scientists along with another 58,400 administrative and allied health staff, across three major campuses in the United States. The team met with Board of Investment (BOI) Chairman Dinesh Weerakkody and Colombo Port City Economic officials on Tuesday. Chairman Asiri Hospitals Ashok Pathirage and Sujewa Mudelige Managing Partner PWC participated in the discussions.
Earlier in April, Asiri Port City Hospital, the project company, partnered with an international corporation globally renowned for its innovative treatment options, which will provide strategic and/or operational consulting services.

However, it did not reveal the name of the corporation then.
The proposed hospital is intended to deliver innovative and state-of-the-art healthcare solutions and unique patient care services in promoting health through integrated clinical practice, education and research and will engage local and international medical experts and specialists who will be supported by internationally trained and experienced nursing and medical care staff.
