The Cabinet nod was granted to award a Rs.220.8 million worth bid to Medmart Pharma (Pvt.) Ltd, to procure 32,000 vials of 100 mg/4 ml Denosumab injections to treat cancer patients.
The drug is mainly used to treat bone loss in certain cancer patients, who are facing risks related to their bone health as a side effect of some
cancer medications.
The Cabinet of Ministers on Monday approved the proposal submitted by Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi to award the contract to Colombo-based Medmart Pharma.
The company imports a range of healthcare products from oncology, nephrology, blood products as well as surgical devices and medical disposables devices.
Most recently, it secured a Rs.196 million bid from the Health Ministry to supply another cancer drug.
