Mrs. Tourism finale this Saturday

The Mrs. Tourism Sri Lanka 2022 pageant will have its grand finale on Saturday, July 30, in the evening, at the Nelum Pokuna auditorium, with the participation of a large number of foreign diplomats, selected number of senior political representatives from Sri Lanka as well as from overseas and senior artists from film, teledrama and stage play industries and former 
beauty queens.

Mrs. Tourism Sri Lanka 2022 Judge Board Senior Member, well known film, teledrama and stage play producer and former ITN TV Channel and Lakhanda Radio Channel Working Director Dr. Arosha Fernando said that the Mrs. Tourism Sri Lanka 2022 pageant has been conducted successfully over the past three months with the view of promoting the tourism sector in Sri Lanka. 

“It was really encouraging to see the participation of a large number of contesters from all over the country gathered to Colombo, irrespective of the current transport issues,” said Dr. Fernando. 

“We had a series of events, including talent shows, successfully. The winner of the pageant, who will be selected and crowned this Saturday, will travel to Bangkok, Thailand, in September, to attend the Mrs. Tourism International pageant to be held there and will compete with contesters from over 60 countries. One of the key tasks to be achieved there is to promote Sri Lanka as an attractive tourist destination during the event,” Dr. Fernando further added. 

“As Sri Lankans, it is important we take all the possible measures to promote the tourism sector in Sri Lanka as a key solution for the current foreign revenue issue we have faced and I strongly feel through this pageant, we have managed to achieve our task to a greater extent. I would like to extend my gratitude to the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA) and other government authorities for their support provided to us during the event,” he concluded.
