NDB Bank announced its recent achievement at the National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) 2024, where its pioneering platform, ‘TradeLink’ received national recognition for innovation in digital banking solutions.

This accolade underscores NDB’s commitment to leveraging technology to drive excellence in Sri Lanka’s financial sector. Hosted by BCS The Chartered Institute for IT’s Sri Lanka section, NBQSA, celebrates the country’s leading ICT innovations, setting benchmarks for quality, creativity, and technical excellence.

‘TradeLink’ was awarded for its unique ability to streamline supply chain financing through a comprehensive, end-to-end digital solution that caters specifically to Sri Lanka’s businesses.

Designed and developed entirely in-house, ‘TradeLink’ serves as an invaluable tool for supply chain finance, allowing suppliers, distributors, and corporate entities to exchange trade related transaction data seamlessly through the platform.

Among its key benefits are supply chain visibility, real time funding to meet liquidity needs, cost-efficiency, 24/7 access, and the flexibility to tailor operations according to local market needs. Unlike expensive international platforms, TradeLink is purpose-built to empower Sri Lankan businesses, making financial transactions more accessible and efficient.

This award marks NDB’s second consecutive recognition at NBQSA, following last year’s honor for its “Secure360” security management program. The achievement highlights NDB’s innovative capabilities and its steadfast commitment to offering bespoke digital solutions that meet the evolving needs of its clients.

On the achievement, Lasantha Mathupala, AVP, IT, NDB, stated, “TradeLink showcases the expertise of our IT team in delivering tailored digital solutions. The platform’s development required sophisticated, scalable architecture and robust security measures, ensuring that we not only met local demands but set a new benchmark for supply chain finance technology in Sri Lanka.”

Rukmal Dharmadasa, Senior Manager, Channel Finance Unit, NDB, added, “TradeLink exemplifies our focus on supporting the supply chain needs of our corporate and SME clients. By delivering a digital, end-to-end solution, we’re simplifying complex financial processes and enabling businesses to thrive.”

The bank extends its gratitude to the IT and Supply Chain Finance teams, whose expertise and dedication were instrumental in the development of ‘TradeLink’.

As NDB looks forward, the bank remains committed to fostering a culture of innovation, supporting businesses, and advancing Sri Lanka’s economic growth through cutting-edge digital solutions.
