National Savings Bank (NSB) ceremoniously commenced the first working day of the New Year, at the bank’s head office premises in Kollupitiya yesterday.
The proceedings of the event began with the chanting of Pirith and Anushasana by the members of Maha Sangarathne, which continued with invoking of blessings by the clergies of Christian, Hindu and Islamic religions. The occasion was graced by the Chairperson Keasila Jayawardana, Director, Jayantha Perera, General Manager/CEO, Ajith Peiris, Senior Deputy General Manager, K. Ravindran, Deputy General Managers and the Assistant General Managers and senior management and the entire staff of the Head Office were also present at the occasion. The General Manager/CEO of the bank, Ajith Peiris addressing the staff stated that even if 2020 was a year full of challenges the bank has achieved all the
targets successfully.
Chairperson Keasila Jayawardana addressing the staff thanked them for their tireless efforts in 2020 and there are many new innovations to be introduced in 2021 to cater to the customers more effectively. Jayawardana also emphasized the need for the collective effort of the staff for the betterment of the Bank and the country in future.
The staff of the bank, commenced work for the New Year by giving an oath to serve the people efficiently, productively with firm determination, utmost commitment, honesty, dedication and loyalty to the people.
