National tea sales average reaches​​ all time high in Feb.

National sales average for Ceylon tea reached an all time high in February recording Rs.725.63 (US$ 3.61).
The February sales average surpassed the previous best of Rs.704.67 (US$ 3.56) recorded in January 2022 and is the highest ever recorded average of a calendar month.


It is also a Year-on-Year (YoY) increase of Rs. 79.68 when compared with the average achieved in the corresponding month the previous year.


Analysis of the elevational averages for February showe that the High-Growns recorded an increase of Rs.15.92 from the January average, reaching Rs.696.48.


The Medium-Growns averaged Rs.645.06, the highest ever for a calendar month and an increase of Rs.18.35 when compared with January 2022.3.3
Similarly, Low-Growns recorded the highest ever average of Rs.759.45 in February 2022, surpassing the previous best of Rs.744.52 (USD 4.01) recorded in May 2020. 

All elevations recorded a gain during the period of January-February 2022 when compared to the corresponding period of 2021 both in rupee and USD terms.
