New Chairman assumes duties at AASL

Upul Dharmadasa has assumed duties as the seventh Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (AASL).


Dharmadasa is CEO of Upul Travel Service and is an ex-employee of Air Ceylon. 


He moved to Los Angeles after the closure of Air Ceylon and set up a small travel office in 1980. Upul Travel Service is an award-winning tour operator in North America, which has been in business in the USA for almost 35 years.

Newly-appointed AASL Deputy Chairman Amitha Wijesuriya, Civil Aviation Director General/CEO H.M.C. Nimalsiri, Additional Director General (Acting) Panduka Priyantha Jayaweera, AASL board members Sarala Chinthaka Karunaratne and Chaminda Welgama were present at the occasion.
