Nimal Perera’s venture capital firm invests Rs.250mn in tech start-up Arimac

High net worth investor Nimal Perera has reportedly invested Rs.250 million in local tech start-up Arimac in exchange of 50 percent stake of the company. 
Arimac, which is still in its initial stages, has been able to score and retain clients like Emirates, Nestle, Coca-Cola, Johnson &Johnson, Ogilvy, Unilever, Microsoft, 3M, Fonterra, Vodafone, Honda, MAS, Dhiraagu, Dialog, Brandix, Sri Lankan Airlines, Hemas, Rocell and ICTA.


Arimac developed the first ever 3D action game developed in Sri Lanka, Kanchayudha. The story of the game revolves around Sri Lankan historical characters and events.


The mastermind behind Arimac is the young entrepreneur, Chamira Jayasinghe, who is the founder and currently the Managing Director of Arimac Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. 

Perera is said to have made the investment through NP Capital Limited, a venture capital firm headed by him.


The investment has secured a board seat for Perera as the Arimac Chairman. The other board members are Founder/Managing Director, COO Dulanjana Silva, Prashan Perera, Chinthaka Sandaruwan and Thilina Premasiri. 


NP Capital Limited, a venture capital firm headed by prominent businessman and investor, Nimal Perera reportedly invested Rs. 250,000.000 in acquiring a 50 percent stake in Arimac with the motive to bring the company to the next level. 


Nimal Perera who is the Chairman of NP Capital Limited sits on the board of Arimac Lanka (Pvt) Ltd as the Chairman along with Chamira Jayasinghe,

Founder/Managing Director, Dulanjana Silva, COO and other directors Prashan Perera, Chinthaka Sandaruwan and Thilina Premasiri.
