PM ceremonially opens BIA’s new aircraft apron and taxiway

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday declared open the newly constructed  aircraft apron and taxiway constructed as a part of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) Expansion Project.

The expansion is supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) under the Special Terms for Economic Partnership.

The ceremonial opening of the newly expanded section was also be graced by Minister of Tourism Prasanna Ranatunga, Japan Ambassador to Sri Lanka Mizukoshi Hideaki, Minister  of Youth and Sports Namal Rajapaksa, State Minister of Aviation D.V. Chanaka, JICA Chief Representative Yamada Tetsuya, and Airport Aviation Sri Lanka Limited Chairman  Major General (Rtd.)  G.A. Chandrasiri, along with other officials.
