PMF Finance appoints Prof. Ajith Medis as CEO

PMF Finance PLC announced the appointment of Prof. Ajith Medis as the new Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

Prof. Medis brings over 30 years of experience in the banking and financial services industry, coupled with an impressive academic and professional background that will undoubtedly contribute to the company’s growth and strategic direction.

With an extensive career in the financial sector, Prof. Medis has held key leadership roles that have shaped his deep understanding of finance, operations and strategic management. Prior to joining PMF Finance, Prof. Medis served as a lecturer at the University of Kelaniya for over two decades. His industry experience includes serving as Senior Manager at People’s Merchant Bank PLC,  as a Marketing Executive at Lanka Orix Leasing Company PLC and as a Management Trainee at Mitsui & Co.; Prof. Medis’ contributions to the finance sector extend beyond his direct roles. 

He has served as a Director at Alliance Finance PLC and as a Board Member for several non-financial sector firms. Further, he has contributed to the uplift of over 20 NBSL sector firms by way of consulting and coaching. 
His expertise spans a broad range of areas, including branch operations, sales, recoveries, deposit mobilisation and leasing and gold loan facilities. His strategic insights have helped shape business transformations and operational excellence for many organisations across Sri Lanka.

Prof. Medis holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) Hons. Degree from the University of Kelaniya, an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura and a PhD in Strategy from the Management and Science University of Malaysia. 

His academic credentials, combined with his practical expertise, have made him a sought-after consultant in the finance industry, where he has provided strategic guidance to over 20 finance companies in various capacities.
