PetroChina secures another deal to supply diesel to Sri Lanka

PetroChina International has won another long-term petroleum import contract to supply diesel to State-owned Ceylon Petroleum Cooperation (CPC) after securing the Cabinet nod this week.


Accordingly, PetroChina International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Beijing-based State-owned PetroChina, is expected to supply approximately 1.137 million barrels of diesel (maximum sulfur percentage 0.05) and 262,500 barrels of diesel (maximum sulfur percentage 0.001) for a period of eight months from 1st of June this year to 31st of January next year.


Early this month, PetroChina won three similar long-term import contracts to supply diesel and petrol to Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the resolution to award a long-term contract to import Murbancrude oil to Nigeria-based Conscio Ltd Oil for a period of nine months starting from 1st of June this year to 28th of February next year.
