Prabhash Subasinghe appointed as EDB Chairman

 Leading entrepreneur and exporter, Prabhash Subasinghe has been appointed as Chairman of the Export Development Board (EDB).
Subasinghe functioned as an EDB board member, previously.

He is Management Director of Global Rubber Industries (Pvt.) Ltd (GRI), which sells its products in over 50 countries. GRI tyres are used in the agriculture, material handling, construction and port tyre sectors.

He is also Managing Director of Global Sea Foods (Pvt.) Ltd – a supplier of high-quality seafood to sushi restaurants in Tokyo and top-tier seafood restaurants in cities such as New York, Paris and London.

His latest entrepreneurial endeavour is Ayenka Holdings, an investment company that has a large and diverse portfolio of investments in the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE).
He holds significant equity stakes in Ceylinco Insurance PLC and Sampath Bank PLC and is a Non-Executive Non-Independent Director of SDB Bank PLC. 

Subasinghe also serves as the current Chairman of the Sri Lanka Association of Manufacturers and Exporters of Rubber Products (SLAMERP) and is a board member of the Sri Lanka Society of Rubber Industry.

An SLAMERP member talking to Mirror Business expressed delight over the fact that an export industry leader has been appointed to give leadership to the EDB. 

Subasinghe holds a BSc in Applied Economics and Business Management from lvy League Cornell University with further studies in Harvard, INSEAD and the Centre of Creative Leadership – Colorado USA.
