The upcoming Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2022 (SLES 2022), the foremost and most anticipated annual economic event in Sri Lanka, will be inaugurated by the chief guest, President Ranil Wickremesinghe, under the theme ‘Resetting from Turmoil to Opportunity’, on December5, at Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.
This year, the summit will focus on key levers that will lead to macroeconomic stability, charting a course toward sustainable revival as the country embarks on the monumental task of economic recovery.
Presented in a new format this year, the inauguration will see Wickremesinghe address the summit, followed by a Fireside Chat featuring the guest of honour, World Bank Regional Vice President for South Asia Region Martin Raiser, who will be interviewed by Economist and Centre for a Smart Future Cofounder Anushka Wijesinha. Ceylon Chamber of Commerce Chairman Vish Govindasamy will deliver the welcome address.
Standard Chartered Bank and CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt.) Ltd are the respective Platinum and Gold sponsors of the event, while Daraz Sri Lanka and South Asia Gateway Terminals (Pvt.) SLES 2022 is scheduled to be held on December 5 and 6 as a hybrid summit, at Shangri-La Hotel. The theme for the 22nd SLES is based on the theme of Resetting from Turmoil to Opportunity.
