Ruhunu Hospital Diagnostics bestowed with ISO 15189 Accreditation

Ruhunu Hospital Diagnostics (RHD) achieved yet another milestone by becoming the only private healthcare provider in the Southern Province when RHD was bestowed with the globally acclaimed ISO 15189 Medical Laboratory Accreditation by the Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB) and International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC).

Ruhunu Hospital Diagnostics has significantly affirmed its footprint throughout the Southern Province by expanding its medical/clinical services to Udugama, Neluwa, Baddegama, Tangalle and Aluthgama through the hospital’s own centres, and also has 300 plus third party collection centres through authorised dealers of RHD.

We see the achievement of this ISO standard as the pinnacle in laboratory accreditations as it affirms the fact that its laboratories have management, quality, technical and safety systems in place. This is to guarantee that accurate and reliable analysis, as well as proper administrative processes to ensure that all aspects related to collecting of sample, analysis, and issuing of reports are standardised, measured, and monitored.

With the rolling out of the Ruhunu Hospital mobile app, patients now have the opportunity to make reservations for channelling as well as view their test results from the comfort of their home. Adding to the convenience, the app also notifies the patient through SMS, when the test results are ready to be collected.
