SL Malaysia Business Council empowers women entrepreneurs

‘Women Entrepreneurship and Networking’ event in Colombo recently marked a significant milestone in the promotion and support of women entrepreneurs in both Malaysia and Sri Lanka. 


Organised by the Sri Lanka Malaysia Business Council (SLMBC) in collaboration with Apex Endeavour Sdn Bhd, the event brought together prominent business leaders and aspiring entrepreneurs, setting the stage for future collaborations and market expansions.


The event was headlined by Samaiden Group Berhad Group Managing Director IR Chow Pui Hee, who delivered an insightful keynote address on the vital role of women in driving sustainable business practices and the importance of cross-border partnerships.


“I was deeply honoured to address such a dynamic group of women entrepreneurs. The exchange of ideas and experiences during the event was inspiring and I believe it will lead to meaningful partnerships that benefit both Malaysia and Sri Lanka. Empowering women in business is essential for creating sustainable and innovative solutions that address the challenges of today,” said Hee.


The event also featured significant contributions from Gruppe Lighting Solution Sdn Bhd, a company dedicated to providing innovative lighting products and solutions aimed at reducing ecological footprints while maintaining cost-effectiveness. 


“The Women Entrepreneurship and Networking event was an excellent platform for us to connect with potential partners in Sri Lanka. We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead as we work towards promoting sustainable development through our innovative lighting solutions,” said a Gruppe Lighting Solution Sdn Bhd spokesperson 


Malaysian High Commissioner Badli Hisham Adam graced the event with an inaugural address, underscoring the importance of fostering strong bilateral relationships between Malaysia and Sri Lanka. His speech set the tone for a day of productive discussions and networking, further solidifying the bonds between the two nations.


“By supporting women entrepreneurs, we are not only promoting gender equality but also contributing to the economic growth of both Sri Lanka and Malaysia,” said SLMBC President M.H.K.M. Hameez.


“We are proud to have collaborated with SLMBC, Samaiden and Gruppe to create a platform for meaningful dialogue and future business opportunities,” said Apex Director Sridheevan Sivanantham.
