SL welcomes one millionth tourist

Sri Lanka yesterday welcomed its one-millionth tourist for this year, who happened to be a Russian national travelling with his family for a month-long journey across the country. Alex Mazkov arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, after a journey that took him from Iran via Oman Air. This marks a significant milestone as Sri Lanka reaches the one-million tourist arrival mark for the first time since the onset of the global pandemic. The last time Sri Lanka achieved this milestone was back in 2019.
