Sri Lanka Association of Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM) recently celebrated the launch of ‘SheExports’ initiated by the SLASSCOM Women Technopreneurs Forum in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB).

SheExports is a programme dedicated to unveil the export potential of women-led businesses in the tech and BPM sector and the launch marks the beginning of a transformative journey for many talented women in the IT and BPM sector, as they set forth to prepare their businesses and products for the global export market.

This programme is focused on key areas such as business digitisation, technology integration and export readiness as SLASSCOM together with the EDB aims to equip women-led businesses with the tools, knowledge and partnerships they need to thrive on the international stage.

Their goal is to foster an environment where these businesses can not only compete but excel in the global market.

Through a combination of expert guidance, mentoring, practical workshops and valuable networking opportunities, the participants gain insights into market dynamics, export regulations and innovative strategies to improve and scale their products to the export market.  The programme is committed to ensuring that every female entrepreneur who is part of this journey emerges stronger, more confident and ready to make their mark globally.

This initiative is targeted not only to empower women entrepreneurs and support individual businesses, it is also targeted to drive broader economic growth, foster innovation and create a more inclusive and diverse business landscape. The launch of this programme is not just opening doors but breaking down barriers and paving the way for a new generation of women entrepreneurs in tech.

The day’s proceedings commenced with the official inauguration and introduction by EDB Chairman and SLASSCOM Chairman, followed by addresses made key officials within the EDB and SLASSCOM Women Technopreneurs Forum emphasising on the long-term partnership of both associations and the positive and lasting impact it has created on the industry throughout the years.

The event then proceeded to the knowledge sharing sessions including an overall programme overview and journey mapped out for the participants way-forward, along with the programme milestones specifically curated for the entrepreneurs of the IT and BPM sector.
