Sarath Gamage assumes duties as 43rd OPA President

Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) President Elect Sarath Gamage assumed duties as the 43rd President of the OPA on October 27, 2023.
The OPA   is a unique organisation, being the apex body of 52 professional member associations representing 34 professions. As such, it is the only one of its kind in South Asia. Since its inception in 1975, it has functioned as the voice of the professionals, working for the development of professions and the nation. 

In its mission, it has been ably served by a succession of presidents drawn from the leading professionals in the country. For the forthcoming calendar year, the organisation will be led by Gamage, who was the immediate past President of the Institute of Supply and Materials Management of Sri Lanka (ISMM).Prior to becoming President of the OPA, he held the post of President Elect, Vice President and Chairman of several standing and sector committees of the OPA for almost 10 years.
He organised the 36th Annual Conference held on August 09 and 10, at The Kingsbury, Colombo, which is the flagship event of the OPA, in a grand manner and the event was graced by President Ranil Wickramasinghe.
