Secondary market pivots to lacklustre sentiment

The secondary market reversed its vigorous trend of investor interaction from the past week and displayed lacklustre sentiment throughout yesterday as investors pivoted into stance of profit taking. 


Moreover, representing the short end of the curve 01.08.26 tenor traded at a high of 11.30 percent whilst, 2028 maturities traded at a high of 12.20 percent. The market displayed sluggish movement amidst low volumes. 
On the external side the LKR slightly appreciated against the US$ recording at Rs. 313.2 at the end of the day.
Moreover, overnight liquidity declined during the day recording at Rs. 33.0 billion. Furthermore, CBSL holdings remained stagnant at Rs. 2735.62 billion.
