Selyna Peiris appointed as Independent Director on WFTO global board

Selyna Peiris has been appointed as an Independent Director on the global board of the World Fair Trade Organisation (WFTO).

Peiris, an attorney-at-law and development practitioner, serves as Director Business Development and Next-Generation Lead at Selyn Exporters (Pvt.) Ltd, Sri Lanka’s only fair trade handloom company.

In her role on the WFTO board, Peiris will work with regional representatives to advocate for the Fair Trade movement globally, aiming to address the challenges faced by Fair Trade Enterprises in various regions.

With over 15 years of experience across multiple sectors, Peiris is also a co-founder of Positive Impact Consultancy and The Institute for Future Creations, providing consultancy services to the United Nations and various international governmental and private sector organisations.

Additionally, Peiris serves as a committee member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and chairs the chamber’s Entrepreneurship and SME Steering Committee.
