Shiluka Goonewardene elected as Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council President

The Sri Lanka-Singapore Business Council (SLSBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce elected Shiluka Goonewardene, Head of Deal Advisory at KPMG, as President of the council at the 26th Annual General Meeting conducted recently. 


Concluding 25 years of operation, the SLSBC has since its establishment effectively executed its mandate to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. Initiatives under this mandate include streamlining processes for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs to enter the Singaporean market and promoting digitalisation for start-ups and SMEs in Sri Lanka with the aim of empowering local businesses with advanced tools and technologies, thereby leading to increased efficiency and competitiveness in the global market. 


The council also elected Vice Presidents Tilak Gunawardhana – MAC Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd Chief Financial Officer, Nirupa Peiris – Overseas Realty (Ceylon) PLC General Manager Sales and Marketing and Indhra Kaushal – Kalhari Group of Companies Group Managing Director, for 2023/24.


Representatives of member companies, A. Baur & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd, Air Global (Pvt.) Ltd, Aitken Spence Cargo (Pvt.) Ltd, Ceylon Grain Elevators (Pvt.) Ltd, CIC Holdings PLC, Hemas Hospitals (Pvt.) Ltd and Star Promotions (Pvt.) Ltd, were elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the council.
