Singhagiri partners with EWIS Colombo to reinvent SL’s television watching experience

Sri Lanka’s consumer electronic retailer Singhagiri (Pvt.) Ltd has stepped up efforts to revolutionise the history of the television industry in the country by making available locally assembled systems that are equipped with improved technology. 

Singhagiri partnered with EWIS Colombo Ltd, the only original equipment manufacturer in Sri Lanka to manufacture SGL-branded televisions. This is a first for Sri Lanka.

The step not only strengthens the Sri Lankan economy but also creates the country many future opportunities, the entity said in its announcement.

Validating the fact that ‘Made in Sri Lanka’ products can be better and high in quality in comparison to other brands, the manufacturing and assembling of quality televisions locally will be done using resources available within the island. The televisions come with a trusted SGL and EWIS warranty. They are showcased at very competitive prices, keeping in mind the comfort and convenience of the Sri Lankan consumer. 

In a statement to the media, Singhagiri said it is also noteworthy that in a time such as the present-day when imports are restricted and the local consumers are unable to enjoy the privilege of imported electronic and electrical products, Singhagiri and EWIS have taken the admirable step forward to commence projects of such magnitude, empowering the local workforce and promises the Sri Lankan consumer a better tomorrow, where they can expect a line of top-notch products manufactured with hope and trust.  

SGL-branded televisions come with both local and international apps such as Teams, Zoom and many others that have become important and most essential to today’s users, taking the television experience to yet another level. 

The partnership agreement was signed by Singhagiri (Pvt.) Ltd CEO Maheshi Anandasiri and EWIS Colombo Ltd Chairman Sanjeewa Wickramanayake, at the EWIS head office in Colombo.
