Diversified conglomerate Softlogic Holdings PLC has entered into a master franchise agreement with France’s Delifrance S.A., to develop, open and operate Delifrance outlets in Sri Lanka with its trademarks.

The new franchise partnership with Delifrance, a French frozen and bakery foods manufacturer, is the third by the Softlogic group as it already holds and operates the franchise businesses of Burger King and Baskin-Robbins.

The Softlogic group’s franchise businesses are listed under its fully-owned subsidiary, Softlogic Restaurants Private Limited, which operates as the master franchisee.

The agreement will result in Softlogic taking over the existing Delifrance business operations
in Sri Lanka.

Based in France, Delifrance S.A. has been developing bakery solutions for food service providers, retailers and bakers for over 30 years.

The company has operations in 20 countries around the world, its corporate website said.

Delifrance manufactures and sells various deep-frozen, frozen foods including bread, bakery foods, ‘viennoiseries’, pastries, sandwiches and snack foods.

The Softlogic group has been bringing to Sri Lanka an array of global brands and businesses via franchise partnerships and authorised dealerships and partnerships as the group banks on higher demand for branded products from local people, whose incomes |are rising.

The group is also banking on the country’s booming tourism industry.
