Sri Lanka to host first-ever marine summit ‘Voyage Sri Lanka 2024’

Sri Lanka is gearing up to host its first-ever Marine Summit, titled Voyage Sri Lanka 2024, scheduled to take place at the Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo on November 26.  The event, organised by the Export Development Board (EDB) in collaboration with key stakeholders from the marine industry is aimed at emphasising Sri Lanka’s contributions to the ‘Blue Economy’ and highlighting its potential as a global maritime hub. The summit will bring together industry experts, government representatives and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to discuss pressing topics such as sustainable practices, cutting-edge technologies and investment opportunities in the maritime sector.


Additionally, the event will focus on emerging trends in Sri Lanka’s maritime and offshore industries such as the oil and gas sector, offshore infrastructure and renewable energy sources along the Sri Lankan coastline. 
Other key areas of discussion will include challenges and opportunities in shipbuilding and repair, the potential for boat manufacturing for the global market and the future of the fisheries export industry.


The summit is supported by several key organisations including the Sri Lanka Ports Authority, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Board of Investment, Sri Lanka Navy, Marine Industries Association, Colombo Dockyard PLC, GAC Group Sri Lanka and the Colombo West International Terminal (CWIT) Project
