Sri Lanka to receive 20mn euros to upgrade health service

Sri Lanka is set to receive 20 million euros in funding from the Global Fund for 2020-2022, to upgrade the country’s health service.


This was revealed at a meeting held between Global Fund Project Director Pubudu de Zoysa and Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi, at the 
Health Ministry.


Since 2003, the Global Fund had released Rs.18.3 billion to Sri Lanka.


The Global Fund, founded in 2002, is a 21st-century partnership organisation designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics.


The Geneva-based fund grants financial assistance to countries where the diseases have prevailed.
