SriLankan Aviation College concludes training for Pakistani aviation entities

SriLankan Aviation College, the training arm of the national carrier SriLankan Airlines, recently concluded seven Airbus A320 NEO and Airbus A330 Level III Differences training sessions for Gerry’s dnata and Airblue teams successfully. 


The eight-day training sessions were conducted by the college’s esteemed instructor panel, allowing the participants an insight into the airline’s engineering maintenance operations.


Multiple batches of Airblue professionals, Pakistan’s second largest airline with domestic and international flights were trained at the SriLankan Aviation College premises, SriLankan aircraft maintenance facility in Sri Lanka and PIA training centre in Karachi, Pakistan.


The training for the Gerry’s dnata team, one of the world’s largest air services providers offering ground handling, cargo, travel and flight catering services, was conducted at the SriLankan Aviation College premises in Katunayake.


“It has been an absolute pleasure providing our training services to Airblue and Gerry’s dnata, where our instructors had the opportunity to train students both here in Sri Lanka and in Pakistan. 


“As an educational institution fully accredited by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, we are fully equipped to provide a wide range of training programmes to both individuals and organisations in Pakistan, while also optimising our programmes to be as effective and convenient as possible, as per their needs,” said SriLankan Aviation College General Manager Primal De Silva, commenting on the newly-concluded trainings.


SriLankan Aviation College currently holds the approval of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), Maldives Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA) and Civil Aviation Authorities of Pakistan (PCAA) and Sri Lanka (CAASL) and has provided aircraft maintenance trainings for a notable amount of Pakistani aviation professionals over the years. 

The world fleet is expected to more than double over the next 20 years with the addition of 37,400 aircraft. SriLankan Aviation College is geared to provide training to the global market, offering an array of aircraft type training courses as per international standards and meet the demand for aircraft maintenance training created by this significant growth, SriLankan Airlines said in a statement. The steady growth of international students enrolled to the college each year is a testament to the quality of the training provided and the reputation it has gained worldwide, it added.  
SriLankan Aviation College has continuously delivered notable performances with salient achievements over the years. The college, certified by entities such as the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Civil Aviation Authorities of Sri Lanka, Pakistan and the Maldives and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), is also a member of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAES) and European Aviation Maintenance Training Committee. 
The college collaborates with well-renowned training and academic institutions and extends comprehensive aviation and corporate training options to students as well as to working professionals.
