TRC Director General resigns

Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) Director General Oshada Senanayake has tendered his resignation.

The reason for his resignation has not yet been revealed.

Senanayake was appointed as TRCSL Director General in November 2019 by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, soon after his election victory.

He also functioned as Chairman of the Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA). At the time of this reporting, it was not clear whether he has resigned from that position too. Senanayake was not available for comment. With his resignation, Senanayake joined a number of senior state officials, who resigned from their positions during the past few months.
