The Court of Appeal issued notice and fixed for support on January 31, 2019 for an interim order in respect of a writ petition, which alleged that awarding of the tender for the provision of luggage wrapping services at the departure check-in area of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) was unlawful.
The writ petition filed by Airdora (Pvt) Ltd., which is currently operating from a shop at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel, Colombo, came up before Justice Arjuna Obeysekara recently.
The petitioner cited Airport & Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) Ltd., Minister of Transport & Civil Aviation, Sashini Fashions (Pvt) Ltd., its Managing Director Sameera Javigoda and 9 others as respondents.
Sanjeeva Jayawardena PC appeared for the petitioner.
The petitioner complained that the awarding of the said tender to provide luggage wrapping services at the check-in area of the departure terminal is illegal, ultra vires, unlawful, erroneous, arbitrary and irrational and has been made on extraneous and dishonest considerations. The petitioner seeks the court to direct the respondents to revoke the purported agreement and re-award the said tender and agreement to it.
