The stakeholders of the tourism and hospitality sector will take part in a peaceful protest today in Colombo.
The industry members will gather outside the premises of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, at 3:30 p.m., while those who are unable to attend will gather outside of their establishments and offices across the island nation.

The protest is being held to protect the high-potential industry from crumbling due to the mismanagement by relevant authorities.

Some of the demands of the industry that will be highlighted at the protest will be to protect jobs, ensure uninterrupted supply of gas, fuel, power and access to social media, protect the existing Tourism Act, appoint a competent chairperson to the SLTDA and abolish the 20th Amendment.
