Trading at CSE stops for day after few minutes as S&P SL20 drops below 10%

Trading at the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) closed for the day yesterday after a few minutes since the trading began, as the S&P SL20 index dropped below 10 percent from its previous close.

Trading was halted twice before, as the S&P SL20 index dropped below 5 percent and 7.5 percent. “We have restricted trading hours due to the difficulties faced by the investors and other stakeholders to access and operate the market as a result of the prevailing power cuts,” the capital market operator said in a tweet.
