The immense health crisis created by COVID-19 has also rapidly caused a global economic crisis, threatening small, and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and the livelihoods of workers in Sri Lanka and around the world.
In an attempt to support SMEs in Sri Lanka to better equip themselves to survive or thrive through the current economic and public health crisis, thereby protecting the livelihoods of many, contributing economic growth and reduced inequalities, the United Nations in Sri Lanka, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the UN Global Compact Network Sri Lanka are jointly organising a webinar series on ‘Supporting SMEs to Protect Livelihoods’.
At the very first virtual episode, scheduled to be held today (June 12) from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., the knowledge partner Stax will discuss using data to understand dynamic global situations and repositioning businesses for SMEs in a post COVID-19 context.
Stax is global management consultancy firm that works with diverse companies in the world. Senior consultants from Stax Colombo will discuss how recovery trends are being tracked in countries that are leading trade partners for SL, and also provide examples of how local and global firms are pivoting during these challenging times and preparing for the future. Stax’s recommended approach for geographical expansion of any type of product or service will also be explained. For registrations contact: [email protected]
