The Central Bank on behalf of the government is expected to settle a maturing US$ 1 billion international sovereign bond (ISB) that falls due tomorrow (27th).
The Central Bank earlier this month announced that plans are already in place to settle the bond.
According to sources, the Central Bank is expected to make the bond repayment utilising the country’s foreign reserves.
Sri Lanka’s foreign reserves stood at US$ 4.027 billion at end-June, almost unchanged from a month ago.
