Union Assurance’s Dirk tenders resignation

Union Assurance PLC (UAL) said yesterday its Executive Director/CEO Dirk Pereira tendered three months notice of his resignation from his post.

A stock exchange filing by the company secretaries said Pereira’s last date of employment will October 31, 2019.

The filing did not mention any reasons for the sudden resignation. Pereira functioned as CEO of UAL since 2010 and was appointed Executive Director in 2014. 

He is a Fellow member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka. He also holds an MBA from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. John Keells Holdings PLC owns 90 percent of UAL.
