Visa, a leading tech giant for digital payments, announced the relaunch of its prestigious Infinite cards, tailored for the affluent and high-net-worth customer segment in Sri Lanka
Targeted at individuals with an asset base ranging grom Rs.0.5 million to Rs.1 million, the relaunch of the flagship product is an effort to define a value proposition for the segment along with offering curated benefits and services.
“Consumers today are increasingly demanding service providers to give them more benefits. They are getting even more engaged on digital channels of payments. A unique segment that we see standing out here is the high-net-worth, the affluent community,” Visa Vice President and Head of Products for India and South Asia Ramakrishnan Gopalan said.
The number of affluent consumers is growing at a threefold pace in the Asia Pacific region, with Sri Lanka especially emerging as the fastest growing market for the corporation, according to Gopalan.

“The segment has become very important to the financial industry, who have demonstrated resilience through various economic cycles. They are the source of the economy. We believe the time is tight in Sri Lanka, given the recovery post crisis. We see there’s going to be a secular growth run in the market here,” he said while speaking at a media roundtable hosted by the company.
Structured around four pillars of exclusivity-lifestyle, entertainment, retail and travel, Visa’s Infinite cards are set to offer many discerning benefits, including access to Visa’s luxury hotel collection, airport limo transfer programme and the priority pass lounge along with great discounts on educational, music, streaming, gaming and
travel services.
Moreover, the Visa 24*7 Concierge service will offer beyond the standard special offers, especially through the new WhatsApp-Chatbot scheme, personalised assistance such as planning travel itineraries and securing reservations at top restaurants worldwide.
Adding to the benefits, Visa Infinite cardholders will also have access to the e-commerce purchase protection and enhanced warranty on
retail services.
“This is one of the first relaunch campaigns we are doing in the region. We are seeing a shift in spending patterns and consumer behaviour, particularly a demand in the travel and lifestyle segments. So, we looked at defining a value proposition for this segment through the relaunch of the Visa Infinite card,” Visa Country Manager for Sri Lanka and the Maldives Avanthi Colombage said.
