WIS, a Sri Lankan company that provides financial solutions in the United Kingdom, has expanded its Sri Lanka office by adding a new wing recently, laying the platform for the company to increase its capacity in the coming months.
The expansion of the office is part of the WIS’ plan to boost its operations and grow its staff in Colombo during 2024 to keep up with increasing demand for new outsourcing opportunities and an uptick in UK-based companies wanting to establish their support teams in Colombo.
The new office boasts of collaborative work areas, state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and open office environment. The interior was designed by Architecture duo Lakdini and Kasun Wickramage. This enhanced environment will foster a more dynamic and productive atmosphere for the growing team.
The WIS Sri Lanka office is the offshoring arm of its UK Head Office and also provides BPO services to other leading businesses in UK. The office is centrally-located at Bernards Business Park, a state-of-the-art business workspace in Kohuwela with easy access to the city of Colombo.
Sharing his thoughts on the occasion, Wijay Kangasundaram – Director of WIS stated, “We’re constantly innovating and expanding our offerings to the UK market and have seen a surge in new clients. This expanded office will provide us with the necessary resources to continue this upward trajectory and serve our customers even better.”
Ifthikar Mohamed – Director of WIS commented, “This expansion is a direct reflection of the tremendous demand we’re experiencing for our services in the UK and also the trust clients are placing on talent that Sri Lanka has to offer. When it comes to nurturing local talent, we have gone a step further by sponsoring talented individuals with professional qualifications such as CIMA and ACCA.”
Adding further, Suneth Silva – Director of WIS stated, “This enhanced environment will foster a more dynamic and productive atmosphere for our growing team. I am pleased to state that we are actively recruiting for a number of positions to support our continuous growth. For more information on available opportunities, please visit our website.”
During the course of 2024, WIS says it plans to tap into the power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by launching a cutting-edge, AI-driven mortgage application where users will be able to search and apply for a mortgage that suits their needs, via their mobile phones or tablets. At present, there is no such software available in the market and the company is confident that this launch will be well-accepted by the UK mortgage market.
