Wathurawila Tea Factory establishes an all-time record price

Wathurawila Tea Factory, situated in Elpitiya, managed by Evergreen Group of Companies, achieved an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction held on July 27 and 28, 2021, by securing an attractive price of Rs.1,550 per kg for the BOP grade, in the Low Grown category. 

The factory is owned by Evergreen Group of Companies, which is owned by Aruna de Silva. 

Wathurawila Tea Factory is managed by Director lndika Nallapperuma, General Manager Lasantha Alwis, Manager Malith Peries and Factory Officer K.H. Chandana Kumara. 

This tea was purchased by Shan Teas (Pvt.) Ltd. The sale was conducted by Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC.
