WealthTrust launches SL’s first direct bidding platform for government securities

In a pioneering move within the primary dealer industry in Sri Lanka, WealthTrust Securities announced the launch of a state-of-the-art online platform that enables clients to place bids directly at primary auctions for government securities. 

The newly introduced digital portal is designed with a user-friendly interface that simplifies the process of participating in Treasury bill and bond auctions. It represents a significant innovation in the market, promoting democratisation of access to government securities. 

This initiative opens up opportunities for new investors by simplifying the process traditionally associated with auction bids. Alongside the bidding platform, WealthTrust Securities has also rolled out a digital client onboarding process. This allows new clients to set up their accounts entirely online, expanding service accessibility to a broader audience and ensuring a seamless integration into the world of government securities.
